To celebrate the launch of the new limited edition #RedbreastDreamCask, we’re offering Arbuturian readers the chance to win an exclusive tasting kit of this rare single pot still Irish whiskey and take part in an online tasting on World Whisky Day 2018…
There are many qualities to an Arb reader; a sense of adventure, a taste for the high life and a discerning appreciation of the finer things.
Among these virtues comes an affection for fine whisky, with or without the ‘e’, whether bourbon, selected single malt or, of course, Irish whiskey. And when it comes to the latter, there’s one name that stands out: Redbreast.
In a nod to the Arb’s esoteric quality, Redbreast is similarly built on a loyal following of “those in the know” and, for more than a century, has stayed true to the traditional Irish pot still whiskey-making tradition. It is, today, considered to be the definitive expression of the traditional Irish spirit.
And on 19th May, World Whisky Day, this spirit comes alive when the new 32-year matured #RedbreastDreamCask will be made available to buy exclusively through the Redbreast members’ club, The Birdhouse. And we have a little taster or two to give away…
For a Master Blender with almost 40 years experience in the industry, the words Billy Leighton and Redbreast go hand-in-hand. Day in, day out, he’s the man to credit for maintaining the consistency and quality of the Redbreast family. However, for this limited edition cask, Billy’s extensive experience and expertise were tested in a different way.
For this new expression, the ‘dream’ cask, Billy was challenged to choose his favourite Redbreast whiskey, and he was more than up to the task. “The Dream Cask was selected,” Billy says, “because, for me, it has something close to the perfect infusion of Pot Still, Spanish Oak and sherry flavours. With Redbreast, balance is normally achieved by mixing a batch of casks – but this extra special cask struck that balance on its own.”
This is a dream that has spanned three decades, two wood types, and a final single cask. Redbreast Dream Cask is just that: the realisation of a dream.
We’re offering Arbuturian readers the chance to win one of six exclusive tasting kits, featuring a 100ml sample of the Redbreast Dream Cask, branded tasting glass, coaster, pen and pin badge.
For your chance to win a tasting kit ahead of World Whisky Day, follow the link to Redbreast’s exclusive members club, The Birdhouse, for more information and entry details.
You’ve landed on a unique and perfectly balanced expression of one of the world’s great whiskeys, and we’re honoured to be passing it on to you.
